Very expected game when bottom-ranked Urunday (0-4) was smashed by fifth ranked Lagomar (3-1) in Montevideo 107-45 on Saturday. Lagomar held Urunday to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Lagomar forced 44 Urunday turnovers and outrebounded them 68-30 including a 36-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Selena Medrick (177-1992) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 23 rebounds and Argentinian forward Luciana Buriani (170-2000) supported her with 12 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Lagomar players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by Mariana Garcia (-2005) did not help to save the game for Urunday. Forward Antonella Ormando (-2000) added 10 points and 4 steals for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lagomar moved-up to third place, which they share with Aguada. Loser Urunday still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Juventud and Paysandu. Lagomar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Hebraica.
