Regular Season Round 3: Frontera - Ancud 93-45

Rather predictable result when Frontera (2-1) rolled over Ancud (0-3) in Temuco 93-45 on Saturday. Frontera held Ancud to an opponent 21.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Frontera forced 25 Ancud turnovers and outrebounded them 52-41 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Ancud's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Frontera made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Daniela Troncoso (178-1987) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Cosntanza Cardenas (185-1998) accounted for 13 points, 17 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side. Four Frontera players scored in double figures. Oliveria Eschmann came up with 8 points and 11 rebounds and Carolina Olea added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ancud in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Frontera will meet Ceb Puerto Montt on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ancud will play against Alemana P. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
