Metapan defeated Santa Tecla to spur ahead in the series. Metapan outrebounded Santa Tecla 50-39 including 20 on the offensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 27 rebounds and 6 blocks. Dominican point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) contributed with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) answered with 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Dominican guard Jose Liriano (189-1998) added 27 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Santa Tecla.
