Regular Season Round 24: Racers - Teporacas 57-90

An interesting game for Teporacas (16-6) which played road game in Saltillo against top-ranked Racers (2-18). Third ranked Teporacas had an easy win 90-57. Teporacas forced 19 Racers turnovers and outrebounded them 37-23 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Teporacas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Racers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian guard Maria Delgado (173-1996, college: Angelo St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 assists and the former international swingman Daniela Soto (177-1995) who added 24 points during the contest. Teporacas' coach Angel Gonzalez felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Katia Mendoza with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Cuban Melissa Oleaga (-1998) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Racers players scored in double figures. Teporacas have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-6 record having six points less than leader Phoenix. Racers lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team still keep top place with 18 games lost.
