The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Phoenix (3-14) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by ninth ranked Mexcaltecas (8-11) 77-47. Mexcaltecas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix's 36. Mexcaltecas forced 24 Phoenix turnovers and outrebounded them 61-43 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international guard Romina Berumen (177-1987) who led her team to a victory with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Diana Santamaria contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Thalia Perez replied with 9 points and 16 rebounds and Yatzu Soriano added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Phoenix. Phoenix's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Mexcaltecas moved-up to eighth place. Phoenix lost tenth consecutive game. They still keep top position with 14 games lost.
