Regular Season Round 5: Lagomar - Hebraica 57-61
Date: May 28, 2022
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#7) and Lagomar (#3). Lagomar was defeated at home 57-61 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lagomar. Hebraica forced 32 Lagomar turnovers. Strangely Lagomar outrebounded Hebraica 46-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Argentinian Abril Ramirez (167-2000) nailed 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Natasha Dolinsky (173-1997, college: Lincoln, MO) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds. Center Selena Medrick (177-1992) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian forward Luciana Buriani (170-2000) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Lagomar in the defeat. Lagomar's coach Adrian Laborda tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hebraica (3-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Remeros and Lagomar. Hebraica will play against Remeros (#6) in Mercedes in the next round. Lagomar's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Malvin.
