We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Humacao where sixth ranked Grises (7-13) beat 5th ranked Indios (11-12) 90-76 on Tuesday. Grises looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Jordan Swing (198-1990, college: UAB) stepped up and scored 32 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Gabriel Belardo (188-1989, college: FIU) chipped in 11 points and 9 assists. Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Nicaraguan guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Indios players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Grises maintains sixth place with 7-13 record. Loser Indios keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. Grises will meet higher ranked Gigantes (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Indios will play against Atleticos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
