Finals Game 1: San Salvador - Metapan 90-108

Metapan fired past San Salvador on the road in the Finals opener. Metapan had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Metapan looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by San Salvador's players. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Martin Ramos (171-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 assists. American forward Chris Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Metapan and four San Salvador players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
