The biggest surprise of round 14 was guest Villa Nueva Jrs' (#5) road victory over Coeindeguasa (#6) 72-66 on Tuesday evening. It was a great shooting night for Villa Nueva Jrs especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Bryan Mencos (-1999) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Henry Alay chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Villa Nueva Jrs players scored in double figures. Yordic Velazquez (-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Jojathan Portales (-2000) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Newly promoted Villa Nueva Jrs maintains fifth position with 5-7 record. Coeindeguasa lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Villa Nueva Jrs are looking forward to face Circulo (#7) in the next round. Coeindeguasa will play against the league's second-placed Villa Nueva and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
