Regular Season Round 3: San Marcos - Santa Tecla 69-32

There was no surprise when Santa Tecla (0-3) was outleveled on the road by San Marcos (4-0) 69-32 on Thursday. San Marcos held Santa Tecla to an opponent 21.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Santa Tecla 59-30 including a 24-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Marcos looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Santa Tecla's players. It was an exceptional evening for Alicia Abarca (165-1997) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 31 rebounds and 5 assists. Amalia Velasquez (160-1993) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four San Marcos players scored in double figures. Nicole Suvillaga (169-1996) came up with 6 points and 15 rebounds and forward Sofia Perdomo (163-2003) added 11 points respectively for Santa Tecla in the defeat. San Marcos will meet at home Opico (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Santa Tecla will play against ExSal (#5) in San Salvador and hopes to get finally their first victory.
