The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Gigantes' (9-11) home victory over 6th ranked Grises (7-15) 100-86 on Friday. Gigantes dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Grises' 44. It was a great shooting night for Gigantes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU) who scored 16 points and 6 assists. The other American import guard Sheldon McClellan (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Five Gigantes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-1994, college: Towson) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Luis Rivera (185-1997, college: Miami Dade CC) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gigantes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Grises lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Gigantes will meet Mets (#5) in the next round. Grises will play against the league's leader Vaqueros and hope to secure a win.
