Regular Season Round 11: Libertadores - Astros 100-71

Fourth defeat of league's leader Astros (8-4) against second ranked Libertadores (8-4) 100-71 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Libertadores dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Astros' 30. They outrebounded Astros 37-24 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Libertadores shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-1993, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Her fellow American import swingman Robyn Parks (185-1992, college: VCU) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Libertadores' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Claudia Ramos (183-1997, college: CSUN) answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Russian forward Julia Gladkova (185-1994) added 15 points in the effort for Astros. Four Libertadores and five Astros players scored in double figures. Libertadores have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Astros. Astros will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Libertadores will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Astros in Jalisco.
