Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and Lagomar (#7). Malvin (5-1) smashed visiting Lagomar (3-3) by 22 points 92-70. Malvin looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lagomar's players. The former international Florencia Somma (175-1988) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Malvin players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian forward Luciana Buriani (170-2000) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Aguada and D.Sporting. Loser Lagomar dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Yale and Remeros. Malvin will meet Remeros (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Lagomar's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo D.Sporting.
