Regular Season Round 5: Lar V. - Ancud 36-42

Quite upsetting was Lar V.'s home defeat in a game versus Ancud 42-36. Ancud forced 39 Lar V. turnovers and outrebounded them 52-35 including a 26-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Oliveria Eschmann who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Carolina Olea chipped in 6 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 11 steals. Rocio Cortez produced 0 points and 13 rebounds and Fernanda Velasquez (-2002) added 10 points and 6 steals respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ancud maintains fifth place with 1-4 record, which they share with Luis ML and Estrella del Sur. It was Lar V.'s fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Llolleo. Ancud will meet at home higher ranked Univ. Austral (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lar V. will play against the league's second-placed Ceb Puerto Montt and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
