Metapan cruised past San Salvador to force the decisive fifth game in the championship series. Metapan outrebounded San Salvador 53-34 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by San Salvador helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Dominican point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 24 rebounds. Five Metapan players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) produced 20 points and his fellow American import center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
