Rather expected game when 9th ranked Mexcaltecas (10-13) were edged by sixth ranked Escaramuzas (14-10) in Jalisco 68-66 on Sunday. Escaramuzas forced 20 Mexcaltecas turnovers. The winners were led by Trinidad and Tobago forward Chervelle Cox (186-1992, college: Central St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Ecuadorian guard Doris Lasso (164-1993) supported her with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 25 points by Sofia Payan (167-2000) did not help to save the game for Mexcaltecas. The former international guard Romina Berumen (177-1987) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Mexcaltecas' coach Gerardo Guzman tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Escaramuzas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Atleticas. Mexcaltecas at the other side keep the ninth position with 13 games lost.
