Very important is a home loss of first ranked Racers (2-22) against fifth ranked Atleticas (14-10) on Sunday night. Host Racers unexpectedly were defeated by in Saltillo 70-83. Atleticas outrebounded Racers 45-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Paola Estrada (172-1993) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists and Dominican center Yamile Rodriguez (188-1994, college: ETSU) who added 21 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Atleticas players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ecuadorian point guard Leyda Macias (165-1983) responded with 19 points and 9 assists and Cuban Melissa Oleaga (-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Atleticas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 14-10 record, which they share with Escaramuzas. Racers lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team still keep top place with 22 games lost.
