Regular Season Round 12: Abejas - Panteras 69-90

The game between Top Four teams took place in Leon. One of their biggest challengers host Abejas (1-12) were smashed by third ranked Panteras (8-6) 90-69. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Abejas' 24. They outrebounded Abejas 48-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Samantha Fuehring (190-1997, college: Louisville) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). The former international guard Angela Rodriguez (173-1991, college: Milwaukee) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Panteras' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Isabelle Spingola (183-1998, college: Marquette) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Jaterra Bonds (170-1992, college: Florida) added 9 points and 7 assists respectively. Panteras maintains third position with 8-6 record having just one point less than leader Libertadores. Loser Abejas keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
