Finals Game 5: San Salvador - Metapan 87-85

San Salvador clinched Liga MB Apertura title. They nipped Metapan in the decisive fifth game of the Finals. Strangely Metapan outrebounded San Salvador 50-37 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San Salvador made 11 blocks. The best player for the winners was Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. American forward Chris Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Dominican point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-2000, agency: Pro Sports) added 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Metapan players scored in double figures.
