Very important is a road loss of first ranked Leones (5-3) against sixth ranked Titanes (4-4) on Thursday night. Visiting Leones were defeated by Titanes in San Cristobal 88-78. Titanes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 38. Titanes forced 19 Leones turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Leones' players. Richard Bautista (187-1997) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Titanes players scored in double figures. Juan Guerrero (205-1993) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Eddy Polanco (190-1994, college: SE Louisiana) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Leones' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Titanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Metros. Defending champion Leones still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Marineros.
