The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Aguada as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aguada smashed 10th ranked Urunday at home 107-17. Aguada held Urunday to an opponent 16.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Aguada forced 51 Urunday turnovers and outrebounded them 51-22 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Urunday's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Camila Kirschenbaum (170-2002, college: Binghamton) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Florencia Fernandez (175-1998) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Aguada players scored in double figures. Forward Sabrina Molina (-2001) answered with 7 points and point guard Martina Caldas (160-2000) added 5 points and 4 steals in the effort for Urunday. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aguada have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with D.Sporting. Urunday at the other side keeps the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Paysandu. Urunday will play next round against Yale trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo - Yale. Aguada will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Hebraica in Montevideo.
