Regular Season Round 2: La Salle - UNITEP 91-75

Very important is a road loss of UNITEP against La Salle on Saturday night. Visiting UNITEP was defeated by La Salle in Tarija 91-75. La Salle forced 26 UNITEP turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Argentinian Joaquin Gamazo (198-1991) scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Martin Ochoa chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four La Salle players scored in double figures. Argentinian Francisco Bonja responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and Argentinian Nicolas Rodriguez scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La Salle will meet Atomico in the next round. UNITEP will play against San Simon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
