There was no surprise when 8th ranked Opico (1-3) was crushed at home by leader FAS (6-0) 96-33 on Saturday. FAS held Opico to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.8 percent accuracy of the winners. FAS forced 48 Opico turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Opico's players. Center Silvia Vega (176-2003) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 12 steals for the winners and Yashary Hernandez (170-1999) chipped in 18 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Monica Canjura (167-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and center Karla Escobar (175-1993) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. FAS have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Opico at the other side keeps the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Se7en and Liceo. FAS will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Opico will play against Salvadorenas (#7) in Santa Tecla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
