Regular Season Round 7: Lagomar - D.Sporting 63-73

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: D.Sporting (#2) and Lagomar (#8). Lagomar was defeated at home 63-73 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. D.Sporting forced 19 Lagomar turnovers. It was a great evening for center Josefina Rivera (177-1998) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Camila Panetta (162-2001) helped adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four D.Sporting players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Selena Medrick (177-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 23 rebounds and forward Evangelina Rolon (181-2005) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion (6-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Aguada. Lagomar lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with four games lost. D.Sporting will play against Remeros (#6) in Mercedes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lagomar's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Montevideo.
