Second Stage Round 3: Felix Perez - Libertad A. 64-89

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Asuncion: Libertad A. (#3) and Felix Perez (#6). Felix Perez was crushed at home by 25 points 64-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Libertad A. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Felix Perez's 28. It was a great evening for swingman Junior Peralta (170) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international point guard Manuel Aponte (179-1992) helped adding 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Libertad A. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Brazilian Alexandre Duarte with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Maxsuel Roque scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Libertad A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Felix Perez will play against Mariscal E. (#5) in Filadelfia and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
