There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Santa Tecla (3-5) won against on the road 6th ranked Ballers (4-4) 58-41 on Thursday. Santa Tecla forced 27 Ballers turnovers and outrebounded them 55-32 including a 26-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Nicole Suvillaga (169-1996) had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Karla Candelas (172-1988) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Maritza Munguia (150-2008) with 13 points and guard Paola Herrera (156-2004) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Se7en. Ballers lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. Santa Tecla will meet at home league's leader FAS in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ballers will have a break next round.
