Regular Season Round 7: Univ.Concepcion - Conce 98-40

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Concepcion: Univ.Concepcion (#2) and Conce (#1). Univ.Concepcion (3-0) crushed visiting Conce (6-4) by 58 points 98-40. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Conce. Univ.Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Conce's 20. Univ.Concepcion forced 25 Conce turnovers and outrebounded them 49-31 including a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Conce's players. It was a great evening for Yenicel Torres (171-1999) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Laura Perez (-2002) helped adding 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Univ.Concepcion players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Barbara Crisostomo (-1994) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Nicole Ulloa (-1995) scored 5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Univ.Concepcion have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Univ.Concepcion went down to fourth position due to points difference. Conce at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with Boston C.. Univ.Concepcion will play against Truenos (#5) in Talca in the next round. Conce will play at home against Truenos (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
