Regular Season Round 11: Leones - Reales 83-64

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Leones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Leones smashed 6th ranked Reales in Santo Domingo 83-64. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Juan Guerrero (205-1993) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized American point guard Eddy Polanco (190-1994, college: SE Louisiana) helped adding 23 points and 7 assists. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Angel Delgado (208-1994, college: Seton Hall) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds and naturalized American forward Antonio Pena (204-1986, college: Villanova) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Titanes. Reales at the other side keep the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Marineros. Reales will play next round against strong Titanes trying to get back on the winning streak. Leones will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Caneros in La Romana.
