Regular Season Round 7: Frontera - Lar V. 102-54

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Frontera (4-2) crushed bottom-ranked Lar V. (0-7) in Temuco 102-54 on Saturday. Frontera dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Lar V.'s 46. Frontera forced 35 Lar V. turnovers and outrebounded them 48-24 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lar V.'s players. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian center Melisa Cejas (186-1984) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Angella Angotzi (171-1986) accounted for 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Frontera players scored in double figures. Macarena Jara came up with 14 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and Iarela Mitre added 11 points respectively for Lar V. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Frontera maintains third place with 4-2 record having seventeen points less than leader Conce. Lar V. lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Llolleo. Frontera will meet Ancud (#5) in the next round. Lar V. will have a break next round.
