Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#2) and Colonias G. (#4). San Jose (4-1) smashed visiting Colonias G. (2-3) by 26 points 94-68. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Colonias G.'s 26 and made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game, while Colonias G. only scored nine points from the stripe. San Jose forced 21 Colonias G. turnovers. The winners were led by Argentinian forward Sebastian Picton (197-1992) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) supported him with 9 points and 12 rebounds. Four San Jose players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Corbalan (185-1998) did not help to save the game for Colonias G.. Naturalized Brazilian forward Jeferson Arguello (198-2000) added 12 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Jose have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 4-1 record behind leader Olimpia K. Loser Colonias G. keeps the fourth place with three games lost.
