Regular Season Round 9: Yale - Hebraica 45-50

The biggest surprise of round 9 was guest Hebraica's (6-3) road victory over Yale (#7) 50-45 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Yale. Hebraica forced 28 Yale turnovers. Strangely Yale outrebounded Hebraica 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Martina Marino (178-2005) who scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Argentinian Abril Ramirez (167-2000) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian guard Laila Raviolo (180-2000) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and center Melisa Techera (180-1999) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Hebraica moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Malvin and Remeros. Yale at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Hebraica is looking forward to face Juventud (#10) in Las Piedras in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Yale's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Malvin.
