Regular Season Round 7: Sivar - Santa Tecla 64-51

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Sivar (8-2) defeated at home 7th ranked Santa Tecla (3-7) 64-51 on Saturday. Sivar dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Tecla's 26. Sivar forced 20 Santa Tecla turnovers and outrebounded them 49-37 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Olga Trujillo (186-1989) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Allison Marroquin (167-2003) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Sofia Perdomo (163-2003) produced 20 points and forward Silvia Perez (158-2002) added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Sivar. They moved-up to second place. Loser Santa Tecla dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
