Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Yale (6-5) smashed on the road 9th ranked Montevideo (3-8) 80-38 on Sunday. Yale held Montevideo to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Yale forced 36 Montevideo turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Montevideo's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Mariangel Santana (160-2003) who scored 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Argentinian guard Laila Raviolo (180-2000) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line).
