Second Stage Round 3: Reales - Leones 107-83

Very important is a road loss of Leones (1-1) against Reales (1-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Leones were crushed by Reales in La Vega 107-83. Reales dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 46. It was a great shooting night for Reales especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Devin Brooks (186-1992, college: Creighton) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Naturalized American forward Antonio Pena (204-1986, college: Villanova) helped adding 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Brooks is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Juan Guerrero (203-1993) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Jose Fortuna (180-1984) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Five Reales and four Leones players scored in double figures. Leones' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Reales will play against Indios in San Francisco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leones will have a break next round.
