Regular Season Round 5: Triple E-Uda - Guerreros 116-99

Bottom-ranked Guerreros is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to third ranked Triple E-Uda (4-2) 116-99. Triple E-Uda dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Guerreros' 54. Triple E-Uda forced 21 Guerreros turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Malik Jenkins (201-1989) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Milton Romo (-1990) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Jenkins is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Michael Almeida (-1994) responded with 26 points and 4 steals and guard Arath Polanco (-2003) scored 23 points. Five Triple E-Uda and four Guerreros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Triple E-Uda moved-up to second place, which they share with Punto Rojo. Guerreros at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Triple E-Uda will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guerreros will play against the league's leader Santa Maria (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
