There was no surprise in Montevideo where 11th ranked Miramar (2-5) was crushed by sixth ranked Colon (5-2) 89-64 on Tuesday. It was a great evening for American point guard Casey Jones (195-1993, college: Chattanooga) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Argentinian center Cristian Scaramuzzino (206-1992) helped adding 15 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side forward Agustin Da Costa (191-1998) responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Mauricio Arregui (200-1998) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Colon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Miramar dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Colon will meet at home San Telmo RS (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miramar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Larranaga.
