Regular Season Round 3: LMMR 2 - Salvadorenas 2 109-79

Very significant was LMMR 2's (#3, 2-1) victory against Salvadorenas 2 (0-2) 109-79. LMMR 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Salvadorenas 2's 38. LMMR 2 forced 35 Salvadorenas 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 50-21 including a 30-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Cuban center Anay Garcia Pozo (188-1994) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 24 rebounds. Monica Aristondo (163-1992) helped adding 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). LMMR 2's coach Alvaro Torres felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Gabriela Alfaro (167-2004) with 13 points and 4 assists and guard Andrea Canales (162-2004) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Five Salvadorenas 2 players scored in double figures. LMMR 2 are looking forward to face Santa Ana 2 (#7) in the next round. Salvadorenas 2 will play against San Salvador and hopes to get finally their first victory.
