A very close game took place in Xalapa between Dorados and Halcones UV Xalapa. Dorados got a very close victory on the road over Halcones UV Xalapa. Dorados managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Friday evening. Dorados looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 29 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and international center Jose Israel-Gutierrez (206-1993) chipped in 7 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard O'Darien Bassett (189-1986, college: Troy) responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Dorados will meet at home Astros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to win that game.
