Regular Season Round 1: Halc.Xalapa - Dorados 84-97

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Halcones UV Xalapa's home loss to Dorados 84-97 on Saturday. Dorados shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 assists for the winners and Argentinian point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) responded with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import center Amir Williams (211-1992, college: Ohio St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Dorados and five Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Dorados will meet at home Astros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to win that game.
