Regular Season Round 5: Hormigas ILBS - Huila 81-51

Rather expected game when 4th placed Huila (0-5) was rolled over on the road by leader Hormigas ILBS (5-0) 81-51 on Sunday. Hormigas ILBS outrebounded Huila 50-33 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hormigas ILBS especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Chilean forward Esperanza Delgado stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Yadira Asprilla chipped in 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hormigas ILBS players scored in double figures. Nadia Cuesta responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Karol Hernandez (-2002) scored 14 points and 5 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hormigas ILBS have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Huila still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Casanare.
