Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Heroes (#2) and Broncos (#2). Heroes (4-2) won against visiting Broncos (5-3) 93-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Broncos. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Heroes made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: BIG) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import guard Davion Berry (193-1991, college: Weber St.) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Garly Sojo (196-1999, agency: Pro Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jaime Finol (195-1987) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heroes maintains second position with 4-2 record having just two point less than leader Centauros. Loser Broncos still keep top place with three games lost. They share the position with Centauros. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
