Regular Season Round 3: Indigenas - Caribbean Coast 97-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Caribbean Coast (1-2) was smashed by Indigenas (2-2) in Matagalpa 97-72 on Thursday. Indigenas forced 19 Caribbean Coast turnovers and outrebounded them 48-35 including 31 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican Jeffry Arias who led the winners and scored 39 points (!!!) and 4 steals. Dominican power forward Teodoro Romero (202-1990) accounted for 25 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Chris Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997) added 27 points respectively for Caribbean Coast in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indigenas will meet at home Leones MGA (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caribbean Coast will play against UNI Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
