Regular Season Round 14: Manquehue - Luis Matte 90-52
Date: July 30, 2022
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Manquehue (9-5) crushed 13th ranked Luis Matte (4-11) in Santiago 90-52 on Saturday. Manquehue dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Luis Matte's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Luis Matte's players. Simon Fernandez (-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and Jose Brahm (-1995) supported him with 21 points. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by Pedro Lopez (-1996) did not help to save the game for Luis Matte. Venezuelan Jorge Velasco (-1993) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Manquehue moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Boston College. Luis Matte lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost.
