LSB top team - Real Esteli (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Indigenas (3-5) in Matagalpa 109-69. Real Esteli players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Indigenas' players. It was a quality performance for Puerto Rican guard Ismael Cruz (190-2001, college: Indian Hills) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 10 assists. Guard Alonso Ortiz accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Real Esteli players scored in double figures. Dominican Jeffry Arias came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican Jose Espinal added 5 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Indigenas in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Esteli have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Indigenas at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Real Esteli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Indigenas will play against Leon (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
