The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers San Miguel (1-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Santa Tecla ITD (2-3). Santa Tecla ITD smashed San Miguel 77-54 on Wednesday. Santa Tecla ITD forced 30 San Miguel turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 4 steals (made all of her eight free throws) and American forward Dasia Evans (188, college: Wright St.) who added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Santa Tecla ITD players scored in double figures. At the losing side Honduran center Jani Martinez responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Melany Sanchez (167-2004) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla ITD moved-up to fourth place. Loser San Miguel dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Santa Tecla ITD will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Miguel will play against the league's leader FAS Fever 2 (#1) and hope to win that game.
