Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar and Montevideo. Lagomar crushed visiting Montevideo by 53 points 80-27. Lagomar held Montevideo to an opponent 17.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Lagomar forced 35 Montevideo turnovers and outrebounded them 59-36 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Montevideo's players. Point guard Victoria Pereyra (172-1986) nailed 22 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) accounted for 22 points and 4 assists. Four Lagomar players scored in double figures. Forward Florencia Mier (167-1992) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Ariadna Sanchez (-2006) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Montevideo in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lagomar will meet at home Paysandu in the next round. Montevideo's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Yale.
