An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Caracas. Second ranked Gigantes faced their close opponent Spartans. Guests from Puerto Ordaz (10-4) defeated host Spartans (7-8) 70-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Spartans. They outrebounded Spartans 48-34 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Trey Gilder (206-1985, college: NSU) who helped to win the game recording 15 points. His fellow American import center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) contributed with 7 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Gigantes' coach Manuel Povea used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Nelson Palacios (192-1992) answered with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Ramon Galloway (190-1991, college: La Salle) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Spartans. Gigantes have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-4 record behind leader Centauros, which they share with Gladiadores. Spartans at the other side keep the second position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
