Second Stage Round 2: Lagomar - Paysandu 125-20

Rather expected game in Montevideo where Paysandu was crushed by Lagomar 125-20 on Saturday. Lagomar held Paysandu to an opponent 18.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Lagomar forced 57 Paysandu turnovers and had a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Paysandu's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Victoria Pereyra (172-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Center Selena Medrick (177-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Lagomar players scored in double figures. Lagomar's coach Adrian Laborda felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. Center Karen Villamarin (-1985) produced 9 points and 7 rebounds and Diana Riani added 4 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Lagomar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Yale.
