Not a big story in a game when one of their biggest challengers Tipitapa (4-3) was defeated at home by second ranked Real Esteli (6-2) 79-72 on Sunday. Real Esteli forced 21 Tipitapa turnovers and outrebounded them 53-37 including a 21-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Deijah Blanks (178, college: St.Edward's) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Jenny Salomon chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Clenia Salazar produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 19 rebounds and Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Esteli have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Jaguares. Newly promoted Tipitapa dropped to the third place with three games lost.
