No shocking result in a game when second ranked San Salvador (7-1) defeated on the road 4th placed Santa Tecla ITD (2-4) 70-57 on Friday. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Tecla ITD's 22. San Salvador forced 23 Santa Tecla ITD turnovers. It was a great evening for Cuban Leidys Oquendo (180-1982) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Monica Calderon (175-1991) helped adding 12 points. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. At the losing side Liliana Alvarado (172-1997) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. San Salvador have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Santa Tecla ITD keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Salvadorenas 2. San Salvador will meet at home San Miguel (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
